Dear Friends,
Happy New Year! This January, we are excited to share upcoming events, activities and opportunities designed to keep us engaged, inspired and connected. Let's make it a year to remember!

Financial Exploitation- Last month, Tabita Alkire from The Elder Safe Program with Washington County Sheriff's office presented on Financial Exploitation. Attached are the slides providing the information covered Financial Exploitation Slides.

January 2025 Events:
Golmaal Golgappe Ka
We are thrilled to announce the second production by our ASIO members. Following the success of our debut play - "Golmaal" we are back with another captivating performance - a performance that promises to make you laugh, think and connect. Mark your calendars and join us for an unforgettable afternoon of storytelling, talent and creativity.
 
Please note that all the actors in this play are seniors from our community. We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers from our youth group to assist with stage set-up and tear-down. Your help will make our events run smoothly and ensure everything is ready for our community to enjoy. If you are interested, please email us at Office@ovapdx.com
Socialization Hour: After the play, please join us in Meeting Room A to meet the cast, connect with fellow attendees, and share your thoughts on the performance. Tea and snacks provided by ASIO.
ASIO Inter-generational Book Club
In January and February, we will be reading and discussing the book, "The Lincoln Highway" by Amor Towles. Meetings are held on the last Friday of the month via zoom. We have space for two more members, if you are interested in joining our book club email us at office@ovapdx.com.
Jan. 29, 2025 - from 11 to noon. We will discuss pages 1- 280.
Feb 28, 2025 - from 11 to noon. We will discuss pages 281 to end.
2025 Membership:
While membership is optional, it plays a vital role in keeping our events free, ensuring broader accessibility for seniors. Your membership dues and donations support this initiative, and we welcome you to be a part of it. Please consider joining by clicking at Membership sign-up or alternatively you may bring a check to one of our events. Our annual membership is $40 per person or $80 for a couple. Read on to discover the types of wonderful activities we put together in 2024 in our Dec 2024 Newsletter.
