2024 September Newsletter

Dear friends,
Welcome to our September newsletter! With summer behind us and the crisp, cool air ahead, it’s perfect time to reflect on the joys of the past and embrace the new opportunities that September brings. Here’s a quick look at what’s covered in this issue:
  • Some glimpses from our August picnic at Cook Park
  • About our Hiking group
  • Book group starts again…
  • September meetings
  • Other events of interest

Multi-generational Picnic at Cook park:
This picnic was well attended. Special thanks to Nita Shah, Arunaji and Chandraprabha for taking a lead in organizing and preparing the main menu. I am sure we will remember the tasty salads, upma and chole for a very long time. There was good food, singing, Bingo, card games but most of all company of good friends. Thanks to all who attended and participated in the event and made it joyful for everyone. Here are some of the pictures from the event:
Our Hiking Group:
In September 2023, we launched our hiking group with 15 enthusiastic participants, kicking off with a scenic trek through Noble Woods Park. Since then, we have explored various parks enjoying the beauty of nature, staying active, and building friendships along the way. One of the recent undertakings by few of our group members was a 5 mile walk in the Bridge Stride - please see the photo below.
If you are looking to exercise outdoors in fresh air, with great company of friends, our group is the perfect fit! If interested, please contact us at Office@ovapdx.com

Our Book club starts again...after the summer break we are starting our book discussions again.
